3 Months to go
April is here and I am quietly confident it will still hurt like hell. The training is going well and although I have not ridden a bike with gears since September, I have dropped 61 lbs since August and have retained a lot of power from riding a fixed gear bike. Fitness will not be a problem.
I am really looking forward to the actual event. To ride on the Tourmalet, the mountain that has dragged me out of bed since November will be my way of paying homage and saying thank you for all the inspiration to get to the level of fitness I thought was long gone. I am in the shape of my life and I am getting better each day.
We did a ride in the Chiltern Hills on Friday of about 40 miles. I'm trying to get 100 in tomorrow. 14 times around Richmond flippin Park. Fuggin dizzy.
